RP Engineering specialises in the construction of industrial drying plants. In particular, the company focuses on the design, manufacturing, and installation of all plant components, including the design of storage systems.
With more than 25 years of experience, the company offers various types of dryers in different sizes. In addition, it also provides the possibility of developing and installing only some of the components that make up the complete system. By offering a customised service, RP Engineering responds each time to the specific needs of every customer, producing plants (or parts of them) that are tailor-made.
In this article, we will focus on the design of the various storage systems.
Indice
ToggleStorage systems are structures used to store materials of various kinds.
In the specific case of drying plants, storage systems represent the initial phase of the drying process, since they are the place where the wet material to be dried (such as wood waste, algae, coffee residues, inert materials, etc.) is collected before undergoing the refining process and then passing through the dryer.
Depending on the customer’s requirements and the available space, RP Engineering designs 2 main types of storage systems:
Storage tanks can be underground or partially underground. Available in various shapes and sizes, they can be made from different materials, such as concrete or steel, depending also on the type of material they are intended to contain.
Storage tanks are highly resistant and durable over time, thus ensuring a high level of safety.
Like tanks, silos are one of the main storage systems. In particular, silos are suitable for storing bulk materials, granular substances, or powders. Silos can be prefabricated or built directly on site. Available in different sizes and capacities, they may have either a vertical or horizontal orientation.
Like tanks, silos can be made from different materials such as steel, concrete, or stainless steel.
In terms of flexibility regarding the quantity of stored material, silos are more efficient than tanks and can be adapted to a wide variety of requirements.
RP Engineering designs and manufactures both silos and storage tanks in various types, sizes, and capacities.
In particular, loading tanks can be equipped with 2 different handling systems to feed the dryers with the wet material to be dried:
All storage systems developed and manufactured by RP Engineering are fully customisable according to the customer’s specific requirements.
Both tanks and silos are efficient storage systems.
To determine which type is most suitable for a specific plant and operational context, several factors must be considered, including:
During the storage system design phase, RP Engineering engineers carry out a preliminary site inspection and a detailed analysis of the context in order to evaluate various elements, including all local conditions such as:
The storage systems manufactured by RP Engineering are solid structures with optimised designs and low maintenance requirements.
Specifically, they offer the following advantages:
RP Engineering designs, manufactures, and installs storage systems such as underground tanks and silos used to store wet material before drying.
Thanks to constant technological updates and the use of innovative manufacturing techniques, the company is able to satisfy every type of requirement, whether related to functionality, capacity, or dimensions.
